Asahi Metal Industry Co., Ltd. has a long-standing history in the metal industry, dating back to 1931 when Miyano Shoten was established to retail steel pipe fittings in Osaka. Subsequently, Asahi Kinzoku was founded in 1949 to specialize in wrenches, and in 1951, Asahi Metals Co., Ltd. underwent restructuring.
In 1954, the manufacturing division was spun off to establish Asahi Metal Industry Co., Ltd., concurrently expanding sales channels nationwide. Later, in 1960, the company relocated its headquarters and factory to a new building in Yao City, Osaka. It received Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) certification in 1961.
Market expansion continued in 1962 with the opening of a Tokyo sales office. Shin-Nihon Tool Co., Ltd. was established in 1970, while a Fukuoka sales office opened in 1976.
In 1982, the company expanded by absorbing businesses in the Sanjo and Niigata areas and relocated its headquarters to Yoshida-cho, Niigata Prefecture. A significant merger occurred in 2007 when it combined with Shin Nippon Tool Co., Ltd.
Since 2008, the company has advanced automation technology in its production processes and has consistently won the Good Design Award for various products, most recently obtaining the award in 2023.
Currently, the company’s headquarters and factory are located in Niigata Prefecture, with branch offices in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka. Employing approximately 60 people, Asahi Metal Industry Co., Ltd. remains committed to driving innovation and maintaining international quality standards in the metal industry.
