Panasonic commenced its operations in Thailand in 1954, initially with Siew Co., Ltd. serving as the distributor for products under the “National” brand. Subsequently, in 1961, National Thai Co., Ltd. (now known as Panasonic (Thailand) Co., Ltd.) was established. This facility represented Panasonic’s first overseas production plant investment following World War II.
Panasonic’s Expansion in Thailand:
- Beginning with the production of dry batteries and radios, the company has continuously expanded its manufacturing lines.
- Currently, the Panasonic Thailand group encompasses 19 affiliated companies, broken down as follows:
- 10 Manufacturing Companies
- 4 Sales Companies
- 1 Research and Development (R&D) Company
- 4 Holding and Other Companies
- Factories and offices are situated in Bangkok, its vicinity, Khon Kaen, and Ayutthaya.
- The group employs approximately 18,000 people.
- It manufactures over 60 different types of products.
